Extra, Extra! Ruby seen in the newspaper.

An article about the Ruby story appeared in the Spring edition of The Northsider. The article, wonderfully crafted by the talented Jackson Graham, launches Ruby's media career. Here's a link o the article -http://thenorthsider.com.au/sean-coxs-adventures-ruby-travel-bug/

It is also in the printed newspaper this month and here is a list of the places the newspaper can be found -

Ruby hopes you enjoy it and she's also recently updated her website so now you can order a book and pay securely on line.

Ruby is very popular and she's nearly sold all of the initial 500 copies but she'll be printing another batch just in time for Christmas!

Ruby goes to school.

In May 2014 Ruby and I visited the staff and students at St Therese Primary in Torquay. We had a wonderful day. The students presented me with a book called "Amazing Animals". The students had filled it with beautiful drawings and stories of their favourite animals. Such imagination! Ruby now has lots of good ideas of friends and places to visit on her next adventure.

Sunday 6 April 2014

Ruby goes to market.

After many attempts, Ruby will finally be having her own stall at the Brunswick Flea market on Sunday the 13th of April. Meet the author and pick up your own signed copy of Ruby for $15. The market will be at 7 Dawson street, Brunswick, 3056. It is directly opposite the Brunswick Baths. Moya will be there doing the occasional coffee runs and so will Barney, our pooch, showing off his very own spot!

Ruby Gets Wet!

On Saturday 21 February I witnessed the amazing efforts of everyone involved in the annual MS 24 Hour Megaswim at the Fitzroy Pool in Melbourne. It was a wonderful event with teams doing laps, children running about and the occasional penguin, tiger and superhero wandering through hoping to win the best costume prize.

I was asked to attend by the organisers to share my story and express my appreciation to everyone involved. Funds raised support the MS 'Go for Gold' scholarships. As a winner in 2012 I thought it important to demonstrate just what all their hard work and swimming produces, and ‘Ruby’ is a tangible outcome. It was a truly uplifting event full of goodwill and a humbling example of the generosity of all participants.

Moy and I also grabbed the opportunity to promote ‘Ruby’ and sold 35 copies! It was terrific to see adults and children alike flipping through the pages and walking around with a book under their arms! See and hear Sean talking about Ruby on the day. http://youtu.be/ksZ423NJbDY

Ruby Sales Hit 200!

Only 3 weeks after Ruby was launched to the world, over 200 copies of ‘Ruby. The Adventures of a Travel Bug’ have landed in a multitude of homes, shops and libraries.

She is making great bedtime reading!

Family, friends, neighbours and colleagues have been crucial
to helping to get Ruby out and about.

She is being read across Melbourne, and in Apollo Bay, Torquay, Shepparton, and Seymour in Victoria; Tasmania, Brisbane and Perth; Dubai, Frankfurt and soon in Alabama, London and France.
There are Rubys in 8 libraries and a mobile reading van across the Yarra Plenty Library Service.
She has also been deposited at the National Library of Australia and the State Library of Victoria.

The Immigration Museum shop in Melbourne has a few in stock.

A donation by Emily Cox (Sean’s niece) has a Ruby in the Puckapunyal Pre School Library in Seymour.

Now the big push begins to see if Ruby can find shelf space in a couple of the larger bookstores as well as some small independent bookshops. And getting copies in your local council, daycare and school libraries will be greatly appreciated!
